ASKO E2 and E22 Errors: the Door Won't Lock

On the ASKO WM76S, E2 and E22/E22.1 are related to the door not completing the lock. The manual distinguishes between an open door, an apparent close, and a mechanism that needs to be reset.

E2 with the door open or apparently closed

The manufacturer's documentation explains that a door that is not fully closed may spring back during the locking attempt. With the machine stopped, move clothing away from the latch area and check that it closes normally without forcing it.

For certain WM76S E2 cases, the mechanism needs about ten seconds to return to position and the panel may not respond during that wait. If the door seems closed, the manual calls for turning it off with the control, turning it back on, and waiting for the reset. That timing is not a rule for all ASKO models.

E22 or E22.1

These warnings describe a closed door that cannot be locked. After checking that the latch is clear, follow the user reset in the manual. If the error returns, request service.

If the mechanism prevents closing or you need an emergency maneuver, check the exact conditions; do not insert tools based on a generic instruction. If the problem is releasing a door that is already locked, use the door and safety path and the corresponding unlock notice.

Note whether the door springs back, stays closed, or will not close; these are not the same situation even though they share E2.
