Ofb Warning on Whirlpool Washer: correcting unbalanced load

Ofb warns of an unbalanced load on documented Whirlpool top-load HE models. It may appear while the machine is correcting the load distribution or when it stops and requests intervention.

Machine correcting or waiting for the user

The manufacturer documentation distinguishes a rebalancing routine from a stop with the control flashing. If it keeps correcting without dangerous banging, let that phase finish. If it is stopped, pause according to the panel and wait for the normal unlock before touching the laundry.

Distribute by volume and absorbency

Untangle the garments and spread them out in loose piles around the wash plate. A single absorbent item can concentrate the weight when it gets wet even if it fits easily. A bulky garment needs a cycle that allows it; do not add water manually or add more laundry until you exceed its capacity.

Ofb refers to distribution. OL corresponds to a load that is too large. The guide to load size and distribution helps separate those conditions before the next attempt.

When it happens with different loads

Check from the outside that the appliance is sitting firmly and has not started vibrating after being moved. If it shifts or bangs hard, stop using it; see vibration and movement. If the problem continues with proper loads, record the cycle and garments for support.

A smaller load does not always balance better: what matters is how it is distributed as it gets wet.
