A washer that bangs or moves needs its support and load checked, but it may also have an internal problem. If the banging is violent, stop the cycle without trying to hold it in place.
If it happens from the installation
Confirm that theshipping bolts were removed as instructed. Check the support of the feet and theleveling with the appliance stopped. A flexible floor, a foot that is not properly supported, or contact with a piece of furniture can affect stability.
Do not remove screws based on appearance: the documentation identifies which ones are shipping bolts. Also, do not try to compensate for an unsuitable floor by placing soft materials underneath without checking compatibility.
If it only appears with some loads
A bulky item can hold water and concentrate weight. When it is safe to open normally, check theamount and distribution of laundry. Follow the specific program limits, which may be lower than the rated capacity.
The control may try to redistribute the load and cancel acceleration. Repeating the spin cycle without changing an identified condition does not help and may make the banging worse.
When it fails with proper loads
If the support was correct and the behavior has changed, note bouncing, the position of the assembly, and any noises. Thesuspension needs to be checked when it does not control movement;drum play points to different kinds of damage.
Lowering the spin speed or placing a mat may change the vibration you feel, but it does not prove that a mechanical problem has gone away.
Resume only when you have corrected an identified external condition and there is no more banging, rubbing, or abnormal movement.
