Wash sportswear according to its fibers, elastic materials, and finishes, using a compatible product and without overloading the load. A sports cycle does not authorize any technical garment or override restrictions on fabric softener or heat.
Preparing clothes after use
Check for visible dirt, zippers, prints, and attached parts. Do not mix lightweight garments with abrasive elements or exposed Velcro. If you are not going to wash them right away, avoid leaving damp clothes piled in a closed bag for an indefinite time.
Gym clothes, compression wear, and swimsuits can only follow a common routine if their care labels match. Garments with a membrane require a different machine-acceptance check.
Product, load, and cycle
- Sort the garments by allowed care and pre-treat stains with an approved treatment.
- Check whether the label excludes fabric softener, bleach, or certain stain removers.
- Measure the detergent, including any automatically dispensed detergent.
- Use the cycle compatible with the intended temperature, load size, and spin.
- Remove the load and dry according to the label, without adding heat to speed things up if it is excluded.
A larger dose does not guarantee better odor removal. If it comes back when you wear the garment, check persistent odor and do not mask it with perfume. Fabric softener also should not be used to try to restore elasticity to a damaged item.
Before washing a waterproof jacket or a garment that retains water, check membrane and washer compatibility.
