dC Error on Samsung Washers: Door or Imbalance by Model

dC can indicate a door issue or imbalance on Samsung. Your reference manual’s definition determines which path to follow; the timing of the fault alone does not resolve that ambiguity.

Samsung explicitly warns of that dual interpretation. There is no single sequence that combines closing the door, adding laundry, and resetting for all platforms.

First identify the applicable meaning

  1. Photograph the code and the full model number on the label. Keep uppercase letters, suffixes, and any possible prefixes from another unit.
  2. Look up dC in the warnings section of the exact manual.
  3. If it is defined as a door closure issue, check only for obstructions and visible damage when the drum is stopped and the door can be opened.
  4. If it is defined as an imbalance issue, wait for the lock to release and redistribute the load according to capacity and cycle.

An alarm when trying to spin can help guide the conversation with support, but it does not rule out the door lock. Likewise, the door appearing closed does not prove that the lock has been confirmed.

If the manual does not explain dC, send the photo to the equipment support team. Do not repair by trial and error or force the door open to test both possibilities.

The next check should belong to the branch confirmed in the manual; combining fixes is not the same as diagnosis.
