dHE Error on LG Washers: Drying Function Failure

dHE refers to the drying function on LG washer-dryers that document this alert. It should not be applied to standalone dryers or confused with simple slow drying.

The match is listed in LG help for washers and combos. Check that your unit's rating plate and manual include that function.

Note which part of the cycle is interrupted

If the wash finishes and dHE appears when switching to drying, note that transition. If it appears after some time drying, keep the program and load used. Do not restart heat just to time the fault.

Check the drying capacity of the program: it may be lower than the wash capacity. A load that is allowed for washing is not automatically approved for drying. Remove or redistribute items only when they have cooled down and the door has been released.

Apply the recovery procedure in the manual if applicable. If dHE returns, the drying function needs to be checked; the message does not on its own identify the heater, fan, or sensor. Do not open ducts or covers to investigate which part has stopped working.

When reporting dHE, specify whether the wash completed and which drying stage failed; avoid describing the whole machine as unable to wash.
