PF Error on LG Washers: Power Interruption

PF indicates a power interruption during operation on a documented LG front-load washer. A known outage and a recurring loss of power call for different responses.

The LG definition links PF to a power outage. Check whether other equipment also lost power or whether the washer switch was turned off.

After a known outage

Wait until the power supply is stable. Check the program status and follow the restart or cancellation instructions in the manual: the laundry may have been left unrinsed or with water in it. Clearing PF does not confirm that the wash cycle finished all of its stages.

When there was no general outage

With the appliance stopped, look for visible damage, warping, or signs of overheating on the cord or outlet, without touching damaged parts or making mains measurements. If a protective device tripped, do not reset it repeatedly just to keep washing.

If the problem keeps happening, both the electrical installation and the appliance may need to be checked. The power supply must match the nameplate data and the installation required by the appliance manual for the market; a plug adapter does not prove that compatibility.

If PF appears again without an identified outage, take the washer out of service and report what other loads or electrical protections were active.
