CE indicates overcurrent in the motor circuit on documented LG front-loaders. Checking wiring, insulation, and electronics is the job of service technicians.
The LG chart places CE in the drive circuit. The display does not identify which component caused the abnormal current or let you rule out parts one by one for replacement.
When to stop trying
Stop using it if there is a burning smell, damaged wiring, abnormal heating, or a tripped safety device. Do not run a test spin cycle or connect the machine to an extension cord to see whether the result changes.
Without those signs, note whether CE appears before the first rotation or during the spin load. Check the specific reset procedure allowed by your model’s manual. If it returns after that reset, do not keep repeating attempts with different loads.
An external inspection may reveal a pinched wire or an improper connection, but it does not rule out an internal insulation fault. Do not remove panels or measure components with the washer powered on.
The inspection should investigate why overcurrent is being detected, not just clear CE from the display.
