dE1, dE2, and dE3 Errors on LG SideKick: Drawer and Lid

On LG SideKick, dE1 indicates the drawer, dE2 its lock, and dE3 the inner lid. Identifying which of the two latches is involved prevents you from working on the door of the upper washer.

Latches in the LG USA SideKick documentation
CodeWhat to check
dE1The drawer is not closed properly.
dE2The drawer closes, but the lock is not confirmed.
dE3The inner lid does not latch.

The association comes from the official pedestal help. Keep the model in mind: other mini washers may use codes such as dE4 or dO and must be interpreted using their own table.

Inspection of the two latches

Pause and wait for the movement to stop and for the drawer to be able to open. Check that no clothing is preventing the lid from seating properly. On a new installation, see whether any visible packaging film remains on the edge; do not remove switch parts or disassemble the lock.

Close the lid and then the drawer according to the manual. If they latch without obstruction and the alert returns, do not strike them or keep the sensor pressed. Note whether the problem is a drawer that does not reach all the way in, one that does not lock, or an inner lid that does not latch.

If the affected display is on the main washer, use its front table: the same dE prefix does not identify the same latches.
