Sud LOC Warning on Fisher & Paykel: foam-related lockout

Sud LOC indicates a pause related to excess foam on documented Fisher & Paykel front-loaders. Allow the expected recovery before treating the cycle extension as a fault.

The WH7560P1/WH8560P1 and WH7560J1/WH8560J1 manual describes an automatic ten-minute wait before resuming. That behavior applies to those families, not to all Fisher & Paykel machines.

What to do during the pause

If there is no leak or other alarm, follow the manual recovery steps without adding detergent or homemade defoaming products. Opening the lid or powering off to shorten the wait can interrupt the intended process.

If there is water outside, address the leak and avoid contact with wet electrical components. Do not keep waiting just because Sud LOC is a foam warning.

Correct the usage before the next wash

Check that the detergent is compatible with front-loaders and measure the dose based on the product, load size, and soil level. A more concentrated formula or a small load may require less product. See detergent dosing and foam control to adjust those habits.

If the warning repeats after correcting usage and applying the authorized recovery, request service; do not assume the pump is damaged because of isolated foam.

Record how much product you added and whether residue from a previous wash was left behind to explain a repeat Sud LOC.
