Water Passes from the Wash Tub to the Spin Tub

Water reaching the spin tub can enter through an intended function, a mispositioned selector, or a drain that is not flowing. By itself, it does not prove a puncture between tubs.

Check where it is entering

Stop the supply if the level rises uncontrollably. From the outside and without removing guards, note whether the water falls from the top or reappears from below while the wash tub drains.

Some units allow a directed rinse to the basket. Check the selector, fill hose position, and the operation chosen in the manual before calling it a leak.

Relate inlet and drain

Haier distinguishes top flow and discharge problems in its guide to water passing between tubs. That example does not provide universal heights or flow rates.

If the episode coincides with slow draining, check the route of the semiautomatic drain. A shared outlet that does not drain deserves review before suspecting that both tubs are connected by a crack.

When opening the unit is required

If the visible controls and connections match the manual and water still enters improperly, request an inspection of lines and joints. Do not seal internal passages or cut hoses to change the route.

Record whether it happens only with high flow or also at rest. That condition helps reproduce the problem in a controlled way during the technical inspection.

Do not use this explanation for a single-tub automatic washer: the tub separation and its selectors change the circuit.
