SDC or 5DC indicate that the detergent drawer is not fully closed on documented Samsung models. They do not mean an empty reservoir or diagnose the auto-dosing pump.
The official Samsung table assigns this family to the dispenser. Start by identifying that drawer, not the drum door.
Check its position without forcing it
Stop the program according to the manual before handling the dispenser. See whether it protrudes, whether there is residue in an accessible area, or whether something is preventing its normal travel. Insert it to the intended closed position; do not strike the front to make it fit.
If the drawer is stuck, refer to the user removal instructions. Do not yank it out during the cycle or remove the retaining mechanisms. After approved cleaning, reinstall it with all parts seated properly.
If it closes correctly and SDC returns, note whether it appears from the start or after refilling product. It may need the drawer detection checked; the code does not prove the contents are empty or that dispensing has failed.
Keep SDC/5DC written in full when requesting support so it can be distinguished from door and detergent refill indicators.
