If there may be gasoline, solvent, or a non-wash-safe chemical inside the washer, stop using it and ask for specific instructions. A hot cycle or drying is not a safe way to evaporate contamination.
Identify the substance before turning it on
Ask which product got in, where it came from, and what its label says. Oil does not describe a single substance: a layer of household grime and an industrial residue may require different decisions. If it cannot be identified, do not treat it as kitchen grease by default.
The Gorenje/ASKO manual 937815 warns of gas, fire, and explosion with detergents that contain solvents. Do not extrapolate from that warning a recipe for restoring another contaminated machine.
Fuels, solvents, or vapors
Do not start a wash, heating, or drying cycle to see whether the smell goes away. Do not open filters or disassemble parts to remove the product. If there is a strong odor, vapors, irritation, or immediate risk, move away and request emergency assistance or your local poison control service, depending on the incident. Avoid handling controls or connections again within the affected area.
Give the manufacturer the model, the contaminant, and what happened. Recovery must be based on the substance and its safety data sheet, not on a universal degreaser. If cleaners were mixed, follow the response to chemical mixtures. If there is smoke or a burning sign, use the measures for electrical or burning odor.
Household grease film compatible with washing
When the residue is identified and there are no prohibited substances or signs of danger, remove accessible dirt and consult drum and tub cleaning. Choose an approved cleaner for that type of tub and complete its rinse cycle.
Do not add hand dish soap, solvents, or another degreaser on instinct. If the film does not decrease after the intended procedure, contact support instead of increasing concentration or temperature.
A clean appearance does not certify chemical decontamination. Returning it to use should follow the specific instructions received for the incident.
