If the washer does not have self-cleaning, use only the maintenance alternative allowed by its manual and the cleaner. The absence of that program does not authorize choosing the highest temperature by default.
Confirm that the function is missing
Also look for tub cleaning, drum cleaning, or maintenance in the manual index. Some functions are selected from a menu or a secondary option. Do not try key combinations without documentation to find out whether it exists.
If it truly does not have one, check the care section. Samsung includes models without Self Clean or Pure Cycle and notes the need to follow the cleaner’s instructions. That guidance must match the specific manual, not the assumption that any cycle will work.
Compare what the product requires with what the machine does
- Type of washer it is formulated for.
- Where to apply it and whether it must be used without clothes.
- Program or water conditions specified.
- Rinsing and what to do if the treatment is interrupted.
A machine without a heater will not reach a higher temperature just by changing the selector if it does not have the required supply. Do not add boiling water or manually raise the level on an automatic model. A semi-automatic one needs its fill-and-drain sequence, not an imitation of a program that does not exist.
Complete the manual steps and check the result
First remove visible residue and address the parts that are authorized. Reassemble everything before the empty-cycle procedure. When finished, check whether any deposits or product remain and follow the planned rinse. Do not chain different cycles together to correct instructions that have not been confirmed.
If the manual does not offer an alternative and the product requires conditions you cannot verify, contact the manufacturer with the model and label at hand. In the meantime, you can carry out the authorized surface cleaning; the internal treatment should wait for an applicable response.
Choose the product by compatibility before starting the maintenance wash. A long cycle does not prove that it is suitable.
