Errors E17, F17, or E29 on Siemens: water inlet

On Siemens, E17/F17 indicates a supply time exceeded, and E29 a water inlet problem. They share checks, but describe different alerts.

Compare the message with the E-Nr

The manufacturer documentation distinguishes the two entries in its table. Copy the code exactly as shown and use the appliance manual to check supply requirements; a pressure or flow figure from another platform is not enough.

  1. Check that water is available and the tap is open. Note whether the problem coincides with an outage or work on the water supply.
  2. See whether the inlet hose is bent or pinched.
  3. Check the door latch if the model's path includes it.
  4. If the manual allows cleaning connection filters, shut off the valve and prepare to disconnect before accessing them.

Do not dismantle or bypass a hose protection system. The guide to cleaning inlet strainers distinguishes accessible maintenance from internal repair.

If it has water and still fails

Record whether it fills slowly or does not start at all. Request service with the E-Nr and the full code, without attributing the result to a specific solenoid valve or sensor.

Fixing the supply and clearing the message are separate steps; the warning disappearing does not measure the actual flow rate.
