E16/F16 and E34 refer to the door closure in the documented Siemens support information. Check the latch engagement and trapped clothing without assuming that every door warning means the same thing.
Check the door before starting
The manufacturer documentation links E16/F16 and E34 to an incorrect lock. If the door opens normally and the drum is stopped, move clothing away from the gasket and remove garments when the load prevents closing. Check that there is no visible obstruction in the latch.
Close it normally and use Start/Reload or the equivalent control indicated in the E-Nr. manual. A click alone does not confirm electrical recognition of the lock; avoid slamming the door to make it happen.
If the program still will not start
Note whether the warning appears before loading or after starting, and whether the door remains locked. If it will not open, do not pull on the handle: consult door and safety lock before retrieving clothing.
The retry described in the manual may verify a corrected condition; if the message returns, request service. Grouping codes does not authorize carrying over every sequence from one generation to another.
Do not bypass the lock or hold the latch manually to operate the washer.
