F06 on Indesit support refers to the door lock. The next step depends on whether it prevents closing, starting, or opening at the end.
External inspection of the lock
The manufacturer's documentation recommends checking for obstructions when the door will not close. Stop the cycle, open it normally, and move clothing away from the gasket or latch. Remove laundry if it is pushing outward; close it gently.
If the lock seems fully engaged but the cycle does not start, note whether you hear an attempt to lock and whether the error appears before water is taken in. Do not hold the mechanism down or insert objects to simulate a correct signal.
When the problem is releasing the laundry
Wait for the drum to stop and check for water or heat before trying to open it. A safety delay does not authorize forcing the handle. See door and safety lock and the model's procedure for any emergency access.
If the lock is clear and F06 keeps recurring, request service. Indicate whether the notice is digital or interpreted by LEDs, and include a photo of the full control panel. The code alone does not determine which component has failed.
Instructions for a front-loading door do not replace those for a different lid design.
