You hear metal scraping, rattling, or an object inside the washing machine

Metal scraping can come from objects, clothing, or a shifted part. Hearing metal does not prove that there is a coin between the drum and the tub.

Start with what is visible

Stop the cycle and wait for the door to open normally. Unplug before inspecting the accessible interior. Check pockets, clasps, zippers, and loose objects, without putting your hand near a sharp edge.

Also inspect the outside: a hose or a part resting against the housing can cause rattling. Do not remove panels or move the appliance while it is running.

If the scraping appears once per revolution

When the model allows the drum to be turned gently while unplugged, a localized sound provides information about contact. If there is resistance or a stop, stop moving it. Observe vanes, clearance, and the seal without inserting tools through openings.

A loose vane can hit or catch clothing. The drum being out of alignment can cause contact even without a foreign object.

When an object is missing

If a ring, coin, or item of clothing has disappeared outside the visible area, follow the conditions for recovery between the drum and the tub. Do not run another cycle to drive it to the filter: it can damage hoses, surfaces, or the heater.

Report whether the noise disappears when the laundry is removed or remains with the empty drum accessible. It is a useful observation, not confirmation of the internal location.

If the scraping persists after removing a visible object, do not consider the issue resolved: another fragment or related damage may remain.
