A loose or broken paddle should be checked before you keep washing: it can come loose or leave edges that snag clothing. The fix depends on whether the part, its mounting, or the drum support has failed.
What to look for without forcing the part
With the appliance unplugged, empty, and cold, visually inspect the accessible paddle. Do not run your hand over a broken edge or try to pull it off to see how it is attached.
Note cracks, unusual movement, and missing pieces. If you hear metallic scraping or rattling, do not assume it all comes from the paddle: there may be another object or damage.
The replacement part needs the drum version
The compatible part number depends on the appliance and its revision. A similar appearance does not guarantee that the mounts and retention match. If the support is damaged, a new paddle may not stay secured.
The Electrolux procedure for a specific paddle uses its own fasteners. The release position should not be transferred to any drum.
Before using it again
Removal and installation follow only the approved instructions for the model. You should verify retention and that no loose parts remain. If a fragment is missing, use the diagnosis for objects lost between the drum and tub.
Do not glue the paddle or adapt screws. If clothes have already been snagged or torn, also check the possible causes of damage to clothing.
Keep any fragments you find to check whether the part is complete; a paddle that is properly secured will not rule out a piece that remains out of sight.
