F34 or door lock indicates that Miele cannot lock the door or, on a compatible top-loader, the drum. Check the load and the closure before trying again.
Identify which lock is affected
The manufacturer documentation distinguishes the door on a front-loader from the drum lock on certain top-loaders. Do not confuse the outer lid with the drum flaps. Open only through the normal access point with the machine stopped.
If the laundry is packed too tightly or is preventing the door from closing, reduce the amount according to the program. Move garment edges aside without pulling on the mechanism. A door that needs force to latch should not be held shut by hand to start the wash.
If the free closure still is not recognized
Support allows an electrical reset of at least two minutes in the event of a technical fault, always with safe access and provided it applies to the model. If F34 persists, request service: do not keep restarting to force the lock.
F35/Door release refers to releasing the lock, not the initial locking. If the laundry is already inaccessible, consult Miele error index and do not use a generic emergency opening.
Indicate whether it is a front-loading or top-loading Miele and which part of the lock is not completing its movement.
