dLEr Error in IFB Washing Machines: the Door Won't Release

dLEr identifies a door lock issue in IFB front-load help. If it won't release, observe the water, temperature, and spin conditions before trying to regain access.

The official IFB explanation addresses dLEr in the context of a door that won't open. It should not be turned into a universal E1/E2 error chart or proof of a broken latch.

Distinguish normal retention from a persistent alarm

Check whether the program is still running or is paused. A door can remain locked because of water, heat, or motion, even if you have stopped pressing the controls. Child lock is another function that must be disabled using the model-specific button combination.

When dLEr appears, follow the shutdown procedure or wait for the time described in your reference manual. Do not pull the handle during that recovery, and do not copy the location of an internal release from another IFB.

If the program has ended and the latch does not release after the allowed procedure, request service. Note whether there is water and when the message appeared; do not open the filter in an improvised attempt to release the door.

Keep dLEr intact when contacting support and describe whether the door is still locked after the cycle ends; that information narrows down the access issue.
