The washer-dryer spins but does not produce heat while drying

The drum may spin without heat during an intended phase. To confirm a heating failure while drying, first identify the program and whether the appliance uses a heating element or a heat pump.

Check what the cycle is supposed to do

Check whether you selected venting, freshening, cooling, or a heat-drying cycle. Do not take an end-of-cycle observation as proof that the entire process ran cold.

The perceived temperature of a heat pump can be different from that of a heating-element appliance. Compare against the documentation and the result, not against the heat of another machine.

Helpful observations

  • If the program ends normally or displays a warning.
  • If drying worked before with the same load and setting.
  • If there has been recent maintenance, a move, or a power interruption.
  • If there are noises, unusual airflow, or repeated shutdowns.

Only inspect the maintenance areas allowed by the manual. A blocked circuit can affect regulation or trigger protections; do not try to reset them from inside.

When component diagnosis is needed

The air and heat circuit must be checked according to its design: heat generation, fan, sensors, and controls. If the drum turns, that confirms one part of the motion, not the operation of the whole system.

The lack of heating in the wash water belongs to a different path. Avoid replacing the wash heater based on a symptom that is exclusive to drying.

Do not repeatedly extend the program to compensate for a persistent lack of heat; request service for the identified system.
